There is a lot of curiosity around the ancient traditions of fire cupping and the benefits of the therapy. Here’s a list I made, in no particular order.
- Migraines and headaches
- Muscular aches and pains
- Joint pain and mobility
- Chest infections
- Chest congestion
- Coughs and common colds
- Respiratory disorders
- Digestive issues
- Inflammation
- Stress and anxiety
There are many reasons why it helps the body to alleviate these symptoms. Mostly it’s due to flow and moving energy, blood, fluid into and out of an area.
Migraine and headache – by releasing upper back, shoulders and neck to increase blood flow into the brain.
Muscular pains, joint mobility – by lubricating joints and increasing the range of movement. Also increasing blood flow into the area full of rich new oxygenate blood.
Chest infections, congestion and cold – by pulling up toxins and bacterial infections from the body. Also loosening mucus around the lungs to help the body remove congestion.
Inflammation – by moving stagnant blood and waste material from around the area and brining in new blood full of oxygen and nutrients which helps speed up recovery.
Digestion – by stimulating the Ileo cecal valve and encouraging the bowels to move and flow properly.
Stress and anxiety – by stimulating the parasympathetic nervous system and reducing the sympathetic nervous system which we all live in today in this active and time restrained life. Check out the page on understanding balance, understanding harmony It talks in detail about the stimulation of everyday life and how it effect our bodys’ and minds. Vagus Nerve activation is also powerful for the sympathetic and parasympathetic system to be in balance, click the Vagus Nerve link to the page and follow the links for exercises to stimulate it. For more understanding about sleep patterns and stimulus check out Trouble sleeping page.
All these treatments and much more can be performed at Visage Therapy Centre in Cockermouth, Senhouse Centre in Whitehaven and in my home county of Yorkshire in Wilsden.
